Taking Inspiration from Famous Shots

As a class we looked at Buzzfeed's 129 Of The Most Beautiful Shots In Movie History and found a couple of shots that we found inspirational: 


Personally, the shot I took most inspiration from was the shot from 'Requiem for a Dream' as I believe it would be simple to recreate in our film narrative - creating a homage to the film. The plot of the film revolves around how happiness is found and lost, as well as exploring how humans long to connect and feel love. This links to our plot due to the main protagonist losing her father and how that affects her, and about her growing up and learning to deal with loss and love.

Inspiration: Will Darbyshire Videos

We found that the YouTuber Will Darbyshire created short films in the style that we would like to replicate. The use of cinematography, particularly in his film California, involves the use of the lighting technique bokeh, and the softness of the clips, and the colour palette are similar to what we want to achieve stylistically.
